SEPULTURA Performs For 15,000 'Crazy Colombians'
October 17, 2007SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has issued the following update:
"We're leaving Colombia today after three days and a wonderful show.
"Derrick [Green, vocals] and our crew arrived on Saturday and me, Jean [Dolabella, drums] and Paulo [Xisto Pinto Jr.] on Sunday.
"A confusion made by the local promoter announced the show on the 15th, but the show was on the 14th. Jean already had a workshop in Belo Horizonte on the 13th so we flew with him on the day of the gig. Also it was going to be a game between Brazil and Colombia for the 2010 World Cup qualifying round.
"Because of heavy rains our plane from Bogota to Medellin was delayed five hours. We watched the game at the airport, among a Colombian majority, which was screaming every chance to score. It was funny. But Brazil played like shit and the scoreless game was unjust for the Colombians.
"We finally arrived in Medellin, 20 minutes before going on stage. We were tired but we were very excited to play for 15,000 crazy Colombians that had never seen SEPULTURA before.
"We came to Colombia in 2000 but we only played in Bogota.
"It was a wonderful show. They were screaming and singing everything we were playing. Besides some problems with my guitar the show was great.
"GRACIAS MEDELLIN!!"
In a recent interview with Romania's Metalhead TV, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser stated about the band's current touring/recording plans, "Our intention, really, is to play as much as we can to prepare this band to start writing new material. So we're gonna start writing a new album at the end of the year, hopefully to release next year, sometime in the second [half of 2008]."
Back in March, SEPULTURA filmed the second video from their "Dante XXI" album, for the song "Ostia". The clip was shot at a studio in São Paulo prior to the band's departure for their European tour. During the following week, the video crew and the main actor shot the outdoor scenes in downtown São Paulo. The script, which adapts the story from the book "The Divine Comedy" to the modern days, was directed by Geraldo Moraes.
